Surplus and forecast
How Overview projects your cash over time.
Surplus
Surplus is income minus expenses for the period you are viewing. Positive means the plan has room; negative means the plan is short before you touch savings goals.
Opening balance
Your starting cash anchors the forecast. Update it when reality drifts (payday, big bill, Up sync).
Forecast chart
Overview projects active lines forward. It is a plan, not a guarantee — missed pays, one-off spends, and timing differences will show up in real bank data.
What to do with a gap
- Confirm amounts and frequencies (fortnightly vs monthly mistakes are common).
- Cut or pause non-essentials.
- Move a goal date.
- Check debt interest — loan tracker estimates interest but lender statements win.
